Day 3

A day of much more mundane adventures. We went to one of Jay and Pats friends at Rent A Wreck and picked up a rental car. Much to our delight we got the Pontiac version of the Toyota Matrix that we love so much. For those of you who knew us in one of our past lives you will remember that our little white Matrix was probably the most reliable, economical and downright fun little cars we ever owned. If we could have pulled a 30' trailer with it we would still have it to this day.

This one is every bit as much fun as its predecessor.
After a quick and easy transaction at the rental counter we were off to Wally World to pick up a Mi-Fi and a US phone that could be unlocked and used at home when we get back.

So...Well yeah, Maybe we did get a little carried away, but its VACATION!! Bruce has now entered the 21st century with his brand new smart phone. Its a Nokia Lumia and he is smitten. Its so cute to see him sitting there finding out what all the little pictures (icons) do. We will now not only know where we are at every minute of the day, but also where every eatery, entertainment of historical point of interest is within a 50 mile radius.
We also got a Verizon Jet Pack mobile hot spot so that in theory we can keep the computers up and running all the way across the country. Just for the fun of it I got a Kyocera Hydro. A little toy phone that's water resistant! Now I can post even IN the swimming pool!! Whoohoo!
Anyway, after a delightful 4 hours in Walmart being assisted by a very helpful and knowledgeable young man named, what else but Dave, we went back to the Kane household for a nummy homemade spagetti dinner with fresh green beans and homemade beer bread. Thanks Jay, good job. The rest of the evening was spent trying to program the phones. It appears that programming them is no longer one of the services offered when you buy a new phone.
It did not make for a restful evening.

If however learning new thing will help to stave off dementia, we should both be safe for years now. And he looks so cute.

And so ends another day on the road.  Tomorrow we introduce Wanda to the joys of the Flea Market!! Keep your fingers crossed for HATS!!!
