Day 2

The adventure continues!
Travel cures insomnia. I believe it's a scientific fact. If its not it should be. After our marathon travel day we slept like a couple of ...............um, old people.  And awoke bright eyed and bushy tailed (hahahohohehe) to a fully prepared coffee maker with a post-it note on the front. "press Button" God bless you Pat! (our sister n law).  Brother Jay made a terrific Hash Brown Pie for breakfast and by noon we were up and running.
Running right to the swimming pool. its right across the street from the condo and beautiful clean, sparkly water. Almost as pretty as our pools at home. My only fear was that the water would be cold. Like 86! But no. It was wonderful! Barely cool and clean and refre.......crap...did I mention that its also where all the moms bring the kids now that they are on summer break?

It was still ever so restful, even Wanda got a chance to dip her toes in the water. Is it my imaginatio, or does my husband have a rather devilish look in his eye?

Thursday afternoon we were invited to play golf with a group of Jays friends. Some of whom we knew from our time as trailer trash in St. Augustine.  Ah, another time, another story.

But Golf! The other 4 letter word. Bruce plays and plays pretty dern well, I owever would rather drive the go cart.  What? Oh, OK. Bruce corrected me. Its a golf cart tat I like to drive like a go cart. ZOOM!!!

Unfortunately I am not the only one who likes to drive. Wanda decided it was her turn. I am not saying she is pushy, but she does seem to know how to get her way. And the drive thru the palms and around the water features was absolutely  stunning. Even allowing for all of the time spent with people playing golf it was well worth the trip.

There was a bit of waiting around while Wanda lined up her shots and chose just the right club...

Did I mention she had a full set of little Iguana sized clubs with her? This girl sure doesn't travel light.

The round was going swimmingly, with everyone contributing in the Best Ball game. No stress.
Until someone started taking things a little too serious.

I'm not saying she was cheating exactly, but .......

but that was one of Bruces best putts!

Needless to say there was some discussion on rules and regs.........

But in the end it was just decided to play thru and let bygones be bygones.

Wanda never admitted that she had been at all out of line, but after the game she did buy Bruce a new golf hat at the pro shop.

She does have exquisite taste.

Then it was off to downtown St Augustine for a delicious meal at Meehans Pub. Shrimp Ettoufe,  Lamb Sheppards Pie with Colcannon on top, a frosty Guinness and a Killkenny for us, Wanda was doing Irish Whiskey shooters. What a wild woman! She was supposed  to be the designated driver!

And she was stealing the shrimp out of my dinner!
Needless to say we went home right after dinner.

Lights out little lizard, tomorrow is another day.
