The Journey Begins.......

Day 1

We left Corozal on the overnight ADO bus. If you have never ridden the overnight ADO be advised, it is COLD. Now wear a sweater, it might be chilly cold. Gale force wind, living in the arctic, no wonder we moved to Belize kinda cold. But it is also clean efficient and cushy. But did I mention it was COLD????
We were in Cancun in time for breakfast and we shared our table with a newly made friend from the bus, Deri.  She and her husband David (yes, another David) are building their home in the Shores.   A very nice lady and she and her husband have both been known to swing a golf club on occasion. So a couple of possible new players on the Wednesday morning round. We went shopping after and strolling the airport. Love the Mexican version of "rubber tomahawk " shops. In our travels we met an Iguana named Wanda. She is so sweet and personable we asked her if she would like to travel with us and she accepted.
Soon it was time to board our flight to Atlanta. Flying coach is never comfortable when like Bruce and I you are tall and long of leg. We were crowded. Flying coach is really bad if you are an Iguana.

Poor Wanda!

She was so unhappy with her seating that she raised quite a ruckus when we arrived in Atlanta. I'm not exactly sure what she said, but lo  and behold, on the flight to Jacksonville we were magically upgraded to 1st class!!  Go Wanda!

Like me she loves to watch the clouds go by.

We arrived safe and sound in Jacksonville and were met by my smiling baby brother Jay.
Wearing his traditional Pop-A-Lock orange shirt. That and the fact that he is over 6' tall and looks like a younger Steven Segal makes him really easy to find in an airport.

Home Sweet Home for the next few days.
